Cobra Snake Dream Meaning

In my spiritual work, the presence of a cobra snake in your dream indicates that it is important to harness your energies. You may be feeling bitterness, which has resulted from problems in your life. It is believed in shamanism that to dream about a cobra stands for your own personal power, strength, and protection, but to me and in my research it is saying just “be silent.”

To see a cobra in your dream is often considered to be a representation of your own personality. In order to make it as easy as possible to interpret the dream of seeing cobras, it is important to understand the surroundings of this dream, and your actual feeling at the time of seeing the snake.

I was told this by my relative who live in London she was the medium who wrote this in the 1930s and passed on her dream book to me, I fist wrote the below in 2012:

• If you have a cobra snake around your body, this can show some type of entrapment and ongoing problems in a relationship. This can signify marital difficulties and divorce. Even though it may be a negative situation and cause problems, the feeling of happiness will return eventually.
• If you see a cobra on top of a dead body, this represents the sexual act of intercourse, but can also show control over your libido.
• If you see in your dream a dead body and a cobra or worm inside the corpse, according to Freud this is directly associated with passion that has not been recognized in the waking life.
• If the cobra is on the floor performing, or on a carpet, this shows the bitterness and emptiness that you are currently feeling will soon pass.
• Dreaming of a cobra snake in the grass means that you are going to hear news that will upset you, and which involve frustration, regret, and depression.
• If you are swallowed by a cobra, then this means you need to consider your reasons for thinking negatively, and you need to return to the real world and be content and happy.
• If the cobra is surrounding your body, then this dream is a direct interpretation of entrapment, which may be connected to a love affair.
• If you see a cobra snake in the countryside on the grass, river or field, this dream indicates that somebody in your life is currently being disloyal and that you need to be able to recognize it.
• If you are swallowed or eaten by a cobra snake, this shows that you have upset too many people around you at the moment, and it is time for you to seek space.
• To dream of many cobra snakes it means that a person is going to make sure that you are displaced.
• To see a cobra snake in your dream according to Freud often has a sexual significance.

• If you are a woman and you dream of a dead cobra biting you, this shows you are going to suffer some type of defeat in a situation connected to a friend. This dream usually foretells evil in different forms and stages. For a man this is a warning to not look into situations too deeply.
• To see the cobra snakes near you in a dream or if you are handling a snake, indicates you are going to have a strategy that would overcome obstacles. Noticing the cobras moving across your indicates that struggles are likely to develop in your life.
• If you kill a cobra, then you are going to have a great opportunity to advance yourself in respect to others around you. This is a positive dream in that you are going to overcome all obstacles that stand in your way.
• If you find yourself walking over cobras, then this indicates you are going to be able to change your own visions and destiny.
• If the cobra fights you, then influences in your life are going to take over affairs. These influences on the positive side of your life.
• If you step aside a cobra snake in order to let the cobra pass, this dream indicates that your efforts will help you overcome any obstacle that may stand in your way.
• If you dream that the cobra coils itself around you or other people, this means you are likely to be in a position of power in the future, but which will be taken away from you very quickly.
• If your dream involves seeing a cobra attacking another person, this foretells that a friend is going to hurt your feelings.
• If you see small cobras, then this is directly associated to joy in the future.
• If you see children playing with cobra snakes, or that you are playing with a snake, this dream indicates that you are going to be able to distinguish between enemies and true personalities in the future.
• If you hit a cobra, then you are likely to be able to overcome enemies that intend to do you harm.
• To see a cobra snake rising up in the air is a direct indication of conspiracy. Somebody is trying to be extremely brave in their life, and it is important that you recognize this action, so that you can congratulate the person for overcoming his anxieties.
• If you are hypnotized by a cobra, this indicates that your rights are going to be maintained.
• Seeing the cobra in a basket in your dream could indicate that you lack the willingness to listen to other people's opinions and advice. 
• Seeing others handling the cobra in your dream could also indicate being confronted with certain situations or emotions which you might have trouble processing or understanding.
• Being killed by a cobra in a dream can represent feelings of insecurity and fear about building proper relationships with others. It may show that you are attempting to avoid conflict through silence and passive-aggressiveness instead of addressing it directly.

• If the bite was fatal, then you have an enemy around you at the moment. 
• To have sex with a cobra indicates that you crave for sexual gratification. To feed a cobra means you have been undertaking hard work and it is time to refresh your mind and think about what will make you feel all creative.

The Asp is the modern Anglicization of the word Aspis, which in antiquity referred to one of several venomous snake species found in the Nile region. If your dream involves seeing an Asp, this is a negative dream for a woman, and it indicates that she has a few enemies that want to do her harm. If you are a man, this indicates that you are going to overcome any difficult problems in regards to a masculine situation. Cleopatra tested a wide range of deadly poisons on condemned people and animals for her entertainment, and she concluded that the bite of the Asp was the least terrible way to die. Therefore, in dream terms, it is important to understand that bad times are not that bad in the bigger light of things.

What is the spiritual meaning of cobras?

Cobras were popular in ancient Egypt and it is considered the serpent used by Cleopatra. Ancient Egypt went crazy about the cobra, tons of monuments and statues all include the cobra, even the Egyptian sphinx. The cobra in Egypt basically meant being “royal” of a higher class than others. This is why those people who died in Egypt were mummified with the symbol, and often the king cobra appeared in the tomb after they died. Combining this symbolism with your dream it could mean that something exciting is on its way, sent from above, and "royal" energy (meaning money) is on its way.

The crazy thing is that the bite causes instant paralysis, and even today is responsible for many deaths. It was not long ago I had a cobra dream, I can remember it was in a basket (not sure if I had watched too many movies) and there are so many spiritual stories that feature the cobra. Often popular in China and also South Asia and of course the color of the dream cobra can vary, now, there is something very special about the cobra they can lift up the body and still move to attack. What does this say spiritually? It says lay down, be silent and attack later. Words can attack remember. To hear that hiss of the cobra in your dream is about someone you need to watch out for. 

What does it mean to see a giant cobra in a dream?

Typically, when we dream about a giant cobra (in the dream world of course) we are facing something that holds great power or significance in life. It could be related to us needing to gain more control over our emotions or it may be pointing towards something else entirely.

I’m sure you will agree that “fear” has its own energy and is trying to alert you of some sort of warning sign but don't let it get in the way; instead try embracing it as guidance from deep within yourself telling you to make positive changes where needed.

What does it mean to see a black cobra in a dream?

Black as a spiritual color is no doubt mysterious, I also read a post on Instagram the other day that said if our favorite color is black then we have a colorful life. I quite liked that analogy. The symbolism of a black cobra appearing in a dream might not be immediately obvious. But I feel it means we sometimes just hide under our own shadows.

What does it mean to see a golden cobra in a dream?

A golden cobra does not exist (in reality) there is a fish called the Golen Cobra Snakehead which is a species of Channidae. I presume in your dream you could have seen a statue or something that resembled a golden snake. The gold cobra means abundance is coming which is powerful. 

What does it mean to see a blue cobra in a dream?

The blue cobra (or naja haje) is a venomous, semi-aquatic snake species native to Africa and the middle east. It belongs to the Elapidae family of snakes, which includes all cobras, kraits, mambas, and coral snakes. This is one of the few species of cobras that can grow up to 3 meters in length. It has an impressive hood when threatened and its venom has been known to cause severe neurological damage if untreated. 

If you google any photos of the blue cobra, these snakes are truly beautiful. Generally speaking, when a blue cobra shows up in your dream, it means the same as what I wrote at the beginning of this dream meaning: transformation and swift change - something that you are not ready to accept or embrace at the moment. 

In my experience, blue on a spiritual level is associated with tranquility and clarity (the inviting yet calming hue of water), pairing it with the snake might bring out certain connotations such as distrust towards someone/something or feelings just having “enough” of someone. 

What does it mean to dream of a cobra biting you?

If you were being bitten by the cobra in your dream then this may represent a fear of failure that holds you back from achieving something great or completing something important.  Your dream could also reflect an inner conflict between taking risks and staying safe. It might signify that there’s something within yourself that needs some attention, like repressed emotions or unresolved issues.

On the other hand, if seeing a cobra bite someone you know in a dream, then this may suggest getting out of an unhelpful situation successfully without any major consequences; such as leaving behind toxic relationships, bad habits, and self-doubt. I also feel, this dream might mean gaining the courage to take action despite fear and standing up for yourself even when faced with opposition; because sometimes we forget just how powerful we are capable of being.

This is a crazy dream, in real life snakes generally (with one exception) snakes don’t chase people. A cobra chasing you in the dream world could represent a threat or potential harm which you are concerned about in waking life. If you feel scared in the dream, this might be suggesting you are running from something in life that is not to be trusted.

The cobra unlike other snakes has the ability to spit venom and the Mozambique is known to be the “spitting cobra” Seeing this in your dream can signify that you can overcome someone’s venom in real life. Over the coming weeks, you may find someone speaks ill of you (or a problem arises). It can be a sign someone around you can’t really say what they want, and they will go deep into themself. 

What does it mean to see a killing cobra in a dream?

You got to remember that in real life cobras are big, powerful, and hard to kill. Therefore, in dreams killing a cobra in a dream is often symbolic of danger, fear, or betrayal of someone that just “does your head in.” Whenever we have a powerful dream image like killing the cobra pops up in the night it is as a warning sign within us that something is not right or that there is an impending danger around us. It might also be indicating some inner conflict which could potentially result in betrayal if not addressed with care.

What does it mean to see a baby cobra in a dream?

Cobra babies are a real rarity to be seen in a dream, most cobras protect the young and nest. The cobra also sheds her skin when she mates. Dreams of baby cobras in the spiritual sense can suggest - new beginnings or transformation in your life, especially as mating season for cobras is January - the beginning of the year. The female cobras create a “nest” and have around 20-40 eggs inside the nest and guard this with her life!

If you see a baby cobra in your dream (not an egg) it could mean that you are about to face an important change or transition. It can also mean that something is causing fear and anxiety within you, seeing snakes hatch from an egg in the dream  could mean there are things happening in your life that threaten your sense of safety and security. The baby cobra is born in an egg sac that can contain up to 12 eggs, so in my spiritual work if you see this expect to see 12 of something like 12 on the clock is important.
