Biblical Meaning Of Overflowing Toilet
Spiritual Meaning Of Overflowing Toilet
In the bible, an overflowing toilet is about going beyond your limits in life. If you look at the word biblically in Matthew 12:34 states "out of the overflow of the heart, the mouth speaks" This is about teaching yourself that things sometimes overflow in life.
I want to share this with you. My downstairs toilet overflowed the other day, I think my child put too much toilet roll down the loo. I was just minding my own business when all of a sudden, bang, the sewage was over the floor when she used it, and all hell broke loose. I ran over to the door to grab the mop and found some old towels and kitchen cloth in the kitchen, then I just fell over in the mess. Well, it reminded me of the dreams I have had over the years, mainly seeing feces coming out of the toilet, and in these dreams, I normally slip right into the mess.
Now, this mess has a real biblical story. I want to share what God is trying to tell you. There is a focus on making sure that you don’t do anything differently and that you focus on what you want in life. Maybe you are finding that your dream is unrealistic. When I was mopping up the stuff and I was surrounded by soggy piles of towels, it suddenly hit me. God has a strange way of teaching us right in the middle of our own mess, to look at our goal, we look at how we can get there, we look at how others have got there and finally, we find out how we can get there.
Now, the problem that most people don’t have means you need to do it. For example, if you want to lose weight you need to exercise and work out more. It seems simple, but if it was then most people would be thin. If you are ambitious then go out there and get it. The way that you do it, is that you work at it every day. Having confidence in yourself is about making sure you can do. The only people I don’t have respect for his those who say they can do it but they don’t.
Jesus gives us a way to clear up these messes in life. In Matthew 18, He says if someone sins against you, go talk to them. Simple, right? But so powerful. He wants us to fix things before they overflow - before they get bad.
As I cleaned up that toilet in my dream, I realized how God sees my own mess of sin. But He's so good, offering a hand of forgiveness, with grace and mercy. Sure, cleaning up isn’t fun, but it's necessary. We can't ignore our messes, pretending they don't exist.
Sometimes it feels like everything's just pouring over in life. But Philippians 4:19 tells us, “And my God will meet all your needs according to the riches of his glory.” Even when things look like they’re way out of control, remember, God has us covered.
Now, when it comes to setting goals, think of it like a plumber with his toolkit. You need the right tools for the job, to clean the mess. Proverbs 16:9 says, “In their hearts, humans plan their course, but the Lord establishes their steps.” That means you must set your goals, but trust God to guide those steps.
Overflow happens. But it's not just about the mess. It’s about finding the lesson in that mess. Maybe it's time to set some new goals, maybe fix some old issues, or maybe just learn to trust a bit more. Remember, when life overflows, you got this. Biblically if you dream of an overflowing toilet it is about what you can control, what mess you can control. And, in my view seeing that toilet overflowing with water (may poop in the bathroom) during a dream can also be linked to the idea of cleansing and the desire to rid oneself of unnecessary crap in life. In this sense, the dream might be urging you to evaluate areas in your life where you feel overwhelmed and to seek a way forward to gain back your control.
