Losing Weight Dream Meaning
Losing Weight Dream Meaning
A few months ago I had a crazy dream where I had lost weight, but not in reality (which kinda sucks). This dream was the perfect opportunity to view what I would look like if I had lost weight. Plain and simple it was one of those dreams where I knew that I really had to do something in waking life.
I'm sure you will agree with me, that the weight loss in your dream is amazing (if you of course were happy losing weight) Now, there is a secret I want to share with you about this dream. Weight loss is like energy, in that it can be mastered and understood. If you go to any library the sheer number of weight loss books and different diets means you just get buried in it all. For me, weight loss in dreams is about being more understood.
What does the dream of losing weight mean?
Energy can be either created or changed from one to another. And, this is the gist of the dream in my view. When I was little, imagining the grandeur of ancient Egypt felt like stepping into a magical world, the reason I mention this is that the Egyptians believed dreams were messages from the gods, seen as omens or divine guidance. In the dream, the meaning of losing weight, this dream could signify removing stuff that just gets in the way in the waking world. To suddenly see yourself growing lighter, your soul might be on a path towards enlightenment, much like the sun god Ra rising victoriously over the darkness each morning.
Ancient Egyptians revered Ma'at, the goddess of truth and balance. To dream of losing weight might mean your soul is striving for balance and purity, akin to the ancient ritual of weighing the heart against the feather of Ma'at in the Hall of Judgment in Egypt. The lighter heart when weighted - the more likely the soul is free of sin, ready to join the divine (I know this is a bit morbid)
What is the biblical meaning of dreaming of losing weight?
The Bible often uses physical states and transformations to bring deeper meaning. In the scriptures, weight loss can be linked to repentance, humility, and spiritual development. For example, fasting—a voluntary form of weight loss—is frequently associated with prayer and penance. I personally believe that dreaming of weight loss is about a period of spiritual awakening or transformation. It might be God's way of encouraging you to cast off the ‘weights’ or sins that easily beset you, as referenced in Hebrews 12:1: "Let us lay aside every weight and the sin which so easily ensnares us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us."
When I was young, I remember my grandmother telling me to fast and pray, drawing strength and enlightenment from sacrifices. This dream of yours might be echoing a similar message (from god) to spiritual dedication, urging you to cleanse your heart and pray for what you need.
