Upstairs

Upstairs Dream Meaning

The upstairs of a house is spiritually all about a higher plane, a place where you draw closer to divine revelation and wisdom. I believe that this is a spiritual dream and that you need to do something about the way you’re approaching something in life.

Dreaming of upstairs is a sign of luck. Being or going upstairs suggests spiritual elevation and activation of emotions. To dream that you are in a house and you go upstairs it means you will soon be concerned about false friends. To dream that you climb a ladder and a step breaks, so you cannot reach upstairs anymore, this indicates that your financial problems will diminish.

What does dreaming of upstairs mean?

To dream of trying to reach upstairs is a good omen. If you feel dizzy while going upstairs, this dream can portend some difficulties ahead.

Going upstairs in a dream signifies that you have a great path ahead and that you can achieve your goals. Upstairs is symbolic of the path ahead. If you manage to reach the reach up the top of the stairs, it shows that you will hold intellectual achievements above all others. Going upstairs can also be a sign of sadness if the house is scary in any way. A manor house upstairs is about the fact you will have expensive material things in life.

Being upstairs and seeing other people down is a sign of pride, contempt, and sadness. If the stairs you climb to get upstairs have a lot of steps, you will encounter material difficulties. The same dream can portend poverty ahead. Climbing a long ladder to be upstairs indicates that you will soon get very tired and depressed, while if your climb is short, this dream tells you that you should be more active at work if you want to accomplish whatever goals you have set for yourself.

According to the Eastern tradition, any dream about upstairs is good, and it refers to ascension, support, and protection. For the ancient Persians, the dream of upstairs was a sign of good luck. The Western tradition of dream interpretation considers that it is good if you dream of yourself climbing a ladder to reach upstairs, as this means advancement, promotion, and gains of various kinds.

What does it mean to dream of walking upstairs?

When you walk upstairs, you leave behind the mundane clutter of the ground floor and move toward a sacred space, a place of prayer and reflection. It is no accident that in many traditions, lofts, attics, and bedrooms upstairs are spiritually all about visions.

Carl Jung may given his books interpret the upstairs spiritually - as the high realm of the self, the conscious part of our life where we are striving toward wholeness and completing the cycle of life. It’s a place where we confront our higher self. Freud, on the other hand, often suggests the upstairs represents our 'super-ego,' that we sometimes split ourselves in half in terms of how we navigate life and upstairs represents the way we navigate life. I feel, spiritually, the upstairs is where elevation happens.

What does it mean to dream of being upstairs in another house?

This can be an obvious dream, if you dream of being upstairs in another house (maybe a friend, your parents, or even a childhood house is all about the past, it is how you feel about yourself. The reason that I believe you have had this dream is because a house upstairs is all about what is going on in your head. Many different psychologists believe that the upstairs of a house represents our brain - this is also about us being strong.  To dream of walking upstairs in your own house during the dream indicates stepping into a new season. Spiritually, the "upstairs" represents a higher level, whether it’s a promotion in your career, a deeper relationship with your spiritual guides, or a breakthrough in your growth. But when you see yourself in another house but being upstairs (a stranger's house) or with someone you don’t know, it often signifies change.

This could be your spirit's way of preparing your spirit for new challenges, reminding you to trust Him, even when the surroundings seem foreign. Can you trust Him to walk with you, to lift you higher into His purpose for your life? That’s the question the dream may be asking.

What does it mean to dream of being upstairs in an unfamiliar house?

Right, being upstairs in an unfamiliar house can feel strange, can’t it? Especially if you don’t know the house. The unfamiliar house represents new opportunities or callings, ones you maybe didn’t see coming. Being “upstairs” is significant; it means your spiritual team is calling you closer, moving you to new ways of understanding, courage, or influence.
