Saint Gerald Majella is said to have been born in Muro, Italy in the year 1726, on attaining the age of 23, he joined church service through the Redemptorists, due to his lack of proper education, he only managed to become a lay brother in 1752 who then served the church as a gardener, sacristan, potter, tailor and infirmaries. He was then authorized to offer counseling services to various religious women communities due to his excellent wisdom, pity and ability to read other peoples consciences.

- Candle/Emblem: White. Crucifix and Lily.
- Matters concerning: To become pregnant, for expectant mothers, ecstasies, channeling, prophecy, mediumship, and healing. Also for when falsey accused.
He was also entitled the responsibility of levitation and bi location that related to some given mystics. Later on, he became a prominent figure among the brothers due to his adorable personal attributes that included being charitable, obedient and devoted to service and work. He succumbed to tuberculosis aged twenty nine in the year 1755.
The saint has been invoked as patron for the expectant mother due to a wonderful prayer he at one time said for a woman who was in labor.
Veneration of Christopher
Pope Leo XIII beatified Gerard Majella on 29th January 1893 only to get canonization some twelve year afterwards from Pope Saint Pius X on 11th December 1904. The first church to be dedicated to saint Gerald majella was built min New Zealand in the year 1908. The saint has also been honored by a feast which is celebrated on 16th October annually. In another honorary event that was marked in 2005, the saint featured on postage stamp in Europe.
In Ireland, an annual novena named the St. Gerald Majella which takes place in Saint Josephs Church. The St. Gerald Majella annual novena is the largest festival ever in Ireland has been allocated nine years.
In the United States of America, a national shrine in specific a church named Saint Lucy’s church is among the biggest dedications to the saint in New Jersey. Every year, there are several feats in the area which mark the feats by carrying out of various vents and activities that include the traditional lights, local music, the putting up and filling of food stands as well as the street processions that go all over the town.
The feast is among the most popular religious events in the area in which various devotees are making a visitation to the shrines and pray for the saint’s intervention in the daily activities that take place.
The Redemptorist Clapham London alternatively known as the League of Saint Gerald is involved with provision of psychological and spiritual motivation for the expectant families and mothers.
In Canada, the Saint Gerard Majorrie has been recognized too. For instance, two towns in Quebec in the country have been named in his honor, in Monteregie and Lanaudiere respectively.
International recognition of Saint Gerald Majorrie
An initiative to promote culture named International Prize for poetry has been established.
