Spiritual Meaning of Spiders

Have you ever stopped and wondered what it means when you see a spider? If near your front door it is a sign to be careful of those that are coming in, and there is an invasion to some degree. To see a spider running across the floor in your home is about something you need to watch out for. Like danger. I don't like spiders and I will tell you why.

When I was a little girl my Grandmother bought a house in France, this was in the 1980s she bought over furniture and stuff from France, and, looking back 40 off years ago.... I think a family of massive spiders came with that furniture from France, because these spiders were like massive. When she was doing up the house in France - I lived in her house on my own (aged 16) while she was away and I am not kidding these spiders were like 15cm long. It freaked me out. Once I remember one suddenly appearing on the arm of the sofa. Yes, it still freaks me out as it was as big as the whole arm length ways. I asked my boyfriend to get rid of it and he decided to pretend to chase me upstairs with it. I remember calling my friend on the phone as I was so stressed out over it. Anyway, I have horrid memories of spiders and you are here because you are wondering what that spider means in your house. Maybe you have just seen one?

After that creepy spider experience... I still recall them all in my mind now (and I am 46 years old) the reason why I am sharing this with you is that I went through some crazy times when I was young. Some nasty, traumatic times and that is what I believe this sign was. It was connected to my childhood trauma. I know that now I am a medium of 30 years.  I loved my Grandmother and in the end she got in a pest control company who said we had a spider nest in the fireplace.

I don’t know but all I know is they were super big spiders and did not look like they were from this country.

Likewise, once I wrote a letter to my Grandad that ended up spitting up family members, when I got the letter ready to send a massive spider came from nowhere and ended up on the envelope. I can go a step further and say that in my life, whenever I see a spider it is a spiritual sign of stuff going wrong/deceit and stress. It may be different for others but to me, they freak me out and I don’t like them.

Are seeing spiders spiritually good or bad?

Spiders to me mean spiritual power. I am sure you will agree that spiritual power It is one of the craziest feelings on the planet. Yet, it is a thing we all feel at one point or another. Spiders are power. Spiders freak some of us out (me). If you see a massive spider in your house then this sign (omen) is about something that is totally out of our control, or if you have become subjected to authority and would prefer not to be subjected to it then you may see a spider in your home after they have contacted you. Or you may look at the problems of the world and realize that there is nothing you are able to do. To see a spider in a bath is about making sure that something ends up working. At this moment where we are there is a message for you, to stop people from taking your own energy.

What does it mean to see a spider on your front or back door?

Let's be honest: Life gets old. Things get old even if they're new. Have you ever gotten a gift for Christmas or your birthday that you so desperately desired, only to get tired of it in only a couple of hours, days or even weeks? Regardless of how new that thing is, the shininess usually diminishes, the newness fades away, and it simply turns into one more thing taking up room in your closet, destined to be a garage sale item someday. All of us come across being bored in our lives and we feel like that used Christmas present. When we feel as though we're outside looking in, or even like we do not belong.

What does it mean spiritually to see a spider running across the floor?

I am sure you will agree that just like webs in life, we can encounter all the crazinesses and problems that our lives throw at us. How much can our body really take? How long does it take for us to realize that trauma is no good? No good for anything. I always feel a spider running really fast across the floor like a form of warning. What is it warning you of? Well, spiders in my view represent our tangle of challenges and opportunities, if you think of the cobweb it is crazy how amazing this web really is, it is interlaced with so much purpose and meaning.

What does it mean to see a spider more than 1 inch big?

I do want to say there feels like a negative energy coming in if you see a spider bigger than 1 inches - I feel that you're going through the grief process for something important in life or a moment in life. In America, there is in 2024 a 52% increase in those in therapy now, and people are now in financial trouble, and inflation is now a disaster across the world. Seeing a brown spider that is large can represent something that is sticky in life. Maybe you have had lot’s of up’s and down’s this year - like it's been up and down up and down and it's a bit you are tired from all that now.

What does it mean spiritually to see a small spider (money spider)

This is all about your wealth and I will say this is a super good omen. If you see a small money spider near you - then spiritually this means some great things will be good for you. I feel like this is an omen about putting effort in yourself - so that you are building something in life. The small spider found on your body is super good luck. I feel like the mindset is important if you see the money spider crawling on you. I feel good energy right now and I feel like this is a sign to invest in yourself.

What does it mean to see the spider in your garden?

I was walking through the garden the other day and this unexpectedly nearly invisible web brushed in my face. This made me think about all the crap that I have had to face in my life and how the trauma has left me. The spider if seen in the garden ultimately teaches YOU to respect the unseen and always trust in yourself and life’s challenges and the strength to weave (mind the pun) the things that you need in life, and create these things in life.

What does it mean to see a spider in your home then it is gone?

I don’t know why but this freaks me out when I see a spider running across the room. I’m sure you have experienced just sitting at home, maybe drinking on your morning coffee, and suddenly, bang - you spot a spider - then 9 times out of 10 it’s gone. When the Father of my children moved out the one thing I was scared of is spiders. I don’t like them. I never have. I find them creepy and they remind me of parts of the astral world. In my own life’s journey, I've faced situations where opportunities appeared crazy and entangled, much like a spider’s web. Initially, some stuff I have faced seems so much and this is about knowing that you have to trust yourself. The worse position is that you can’t find the spider and you saw a massive one in your bedroom.

What does it mean to dream of killing a spider?

Killing a spider might not seem that much of a big deal, especially if you're freaked out by seeing them. In my research into all this there are so many spiritual traditions that see spiders as guardians of “ancient wisdom” and symbols of the “dynamics” of life. Honestly though it is up to you what you do, if you kill that slider or not.

By creating there webs, they teach us about how we connected to people we are, and each strand symbolizes a different path or connection in our lives. Removing a spider can symbolically suggest cutting off these connections or missing out on potential lessons life is trying to teach us.

What does astral spiders mean to spiritual spiders?

I often wonder about astral spiders and normal spiders in the world. And, there is not much difference. This is about making sure that you cleanse in order to cast off bad vibes, and entanglements that would effect you in life.

What is the message the spider is trying to tell you?

Spiders are power as I have said before, and spiders possess great power, the power which is found in a message of hope, a message of love, along with a message of reconciliation. A message found all through the Bible, in places including John 3: Romans three and 16: 23, where God particularly speaks to our hearts and also lets us know He really loves us and wants to guide us into the right path in life.

So the question is: What's our responsibility? What exactly are we doing with the incredible power when we see a spider? In spite of our great power, we have duties. As James 1: 3 states, we have a duty to take care of those around us. 27: "Religion God our Father accepts as faultless and pure is this: "to care for orphans as well as widows in need and then to prevent from being contaminated by the world."

As Philippians 2 shows us, we need to leave our selfishness aside and lead a humble life. 3-4: This is saying we should  not do something from self - centered ambition or vain conceit, but think about other people much better than ourselves in humility. " This is saying you should look out for all the interests of other people as well as yourself. "

We have a great deal of power. What can we do regarding the aspect of "responsibility"? Are we shirking our responsibility and living a pre-dead-uncle lifestyle, living it up in a wrestling ring to earn a bit more money and also impress the female or male of our dreams? Are we taking the high road and aiming to serve our fellow man? You possess great power, but you also have great responsibility. Do you feel ready to take on the challenge? The message of the spider is normally a warning that you have the power over others. Remember that.

Closing thoughts

I also want to mention that numbers also play a part here. If you keep seeing the same spider, it might be about individual growth. But if you keep finding loads, maybe it's time to reflect on your connections, like those threads in a web and things will be difficult.

Whether you love them or not, spiders have a lot to teach us. From patience in creating, to understanding our place in the web of life. Next time you see one, take a moment to think about what message it might be sending to you.
