When I look at my Tarot card, the Emperor, I see that crown, and I picture strength and authority (see my card above). My old tarot teacher used to call him the boss of the tarot deck. He reminds me of times when I've had to take charge or I am dealing with a difficult, strong, stubborn man. This combo to me, happens, just like when I have to stand firm in my faith, even when the world tried to shake me. The Emperor demands that we build strong foundations. Much like a father figure guiding his family.

Then there's the Star. Oh, how she shines with that lovely purple hat (all sparkles)! She shows, she also knows hope and inspiration. There have been moments in my life when all seemed lost and then the star comes out in my weekly readings. Now, the Star has popped up in my readings - and she means brighter days ahead. She tells us to trust in the universe's plan. To believe that there's a purpose in our struggles. I really feel from all the books I have read about these two cards - when the Emperor and the Star come out in a spread together, magic happens. This combo shouts, "Lead your life with hope!" It's about using your inner focus for good. I see this combo as a call to inspire yourself with strength. Imagine a leader who leads but does not lose faith - well that is you, if you draw these cards. I pulled these two cards when I had a problem with my boss once, I remember facing a crossroads of if I stay in that job or not, and, I was unsure of which path to take. The Emperor told me to be decisive and strong. The Star reminded me to dream and trust in a brighter future. Together, these cards both guided me forward, combining great action with inner belief. So, to me, this means the Emperor gives direction, while the Star provides hope. You lead with authority, but your heart remains open. In life's challenges, the Emperor and the Star have taught me to keep going (especially when I had a nightmare boss and these cards popped up). It means you must stand tall, believe, and inspire. 

What does the Emperor and Star Combination mean for love?

Ive already said to you that the Emperor stands for strength and control. So, when it comes to love this love needs a solid foundation, like a house built on rock. If the Tower comes out with both these cards it can mean that foundation just is not there. When love comes into play, a strong foundation matters. You need something strong to lean on. We all want that extra security in relationships, right? I see the Emperor as that rock. Also, please bear in mind this is normally the man in the relationship. 
We also have this Star card. This card is about our hopes and dreams. Tonight (or right now) depending on when you are looking - try to look up at the night sky, and see all the stars twinkling. In love, the Star is out of reach but the man (Emperor) is trying to control the situation.

The Emperor's strength meets the Star's hope. My partner and I have faced challenges, and boy we have had arguments and not spoken at times. I did draw the Emperor and the star in regards to "how he feels about you" to me, this is about how strong we were and that we needed "hope" in life.

If you asked the tarot deck about "feelings" for you and these two were drawn then this is positive. There is a sort of "hidden" vibe going on through in this combo. Think of the Emperor as the strong, silent type. The male, here is normally a leader (this could be you it could be someone else) and this is about someone that feels that they can’t give you there true emotions. I see him as the guardian who brings order out of chaos. When he appears as how someone feels about you, it means they feel grounded and secure about you. The star for feelings represents hope and renewal. Like a night sky filled with twinkling lights, how amazing that looks. The Star to me says that this person feels there are brighter days ahead with you, and they feel this magnetic pull towards you. Even when darkness surrounds this relationship, there's always a bit of light.

When the Emperor and the Star come together for how someone sees you it means that they feel you are building walls around you.  I know life gets tough, and sometimes people vanish without a trace. If you face ghosting, we all know that ghosting hurts, and if you are going through that “silence” in a relationship then this is there to remind you to stay hopeful that you both get back together.

In the workplace, if you have done a “work” spread then drawing this tarot combination to me, means leadership, in that you are going to LEAD. Imagine being that captain driving a boat through a storm, that is what this combination means. Let me explain, the Emperor is the steady hand and the Star shines for direction - for hope. 

What does it mean if you pull the Star as a clarifier on top of the Emperor?

When the Star clarifies the Emperor, it means finding hope in discipline. I often use clarifiers and this helps me understand better what it means for this card. If you think of a gardener watering a plant. The Emperor is like that person that keeps the weeds away from the plant and the sun is like the sunlight that nurtures growth. This combo to me, tells you that you need to just BELIEVE.

What does it mean to pull the Emperor as a clarifier on top of the star?

Let me reverse the above,  to pull the Emperor as a clarifier to the Star means that you need to focus on your own dreams. This is like a kite flying high, and you are trying to hold this by a strong string. The Emperor reminds us not to fly away without a plan.

When it comes to your health, this pair of cards, in my view, encourages that inner discipline you need to be healthy. The Emperor represents routine exercise and balanced meals. The Star is that you will have the ability to heal. In life, we're always juggling control. Relationships start and also end, and things matter. I always feel that a relationship with a man may have made you worry when this combo appears.
